How do I control the position and appearence of an image (edit image properties)?

Once the image has been uploaded or chosen from the server (see 'How do I add an image') you can alter the position and appearence of the image on the following tabs:

'Image Info' tab

Alternative Text

The Alternative text is to provide alternative or substitute text,  for use when the image is not being displayed.
eg - when being viewed from a mobile device.

Width and Height

The width and height of the image can be changed to fit your page.
The ratio is locked by default, so entering in a new width will automatically change the height.
To turn this feature off click the padlock icon.
To reset the values to the orriginal values, click the reset icon.

Border

You can add a border to your images, enter a numerical value for a border of that many pixels.

HSpace and Vspace

These options correspond to the horizontal and vertical padding you can put round an image.
By entering 5 into the Hspace, you will add a 5 pixel padding to the left and right of your image.
By entering 5 into the Vspace, you will add a 5 pixel padding to the top and bottom of your image.

Align

This drop down allows you to chose where on the page (or in a table cell) the image will sit.

'Link' tab

The 'link' tab allows you to link the image to:

  • an external website

To link the image to an external site, enter the url into the'URL' field. eg: 'http://www.sportcentric.com
'The 'Target' dropdown selects how the link will be opened.
'New Window' will open the link in a new window, whilst 'Same Window' will load the new page in the same window.
Click 'OK' to apply the link to the image.
